Traffic Tanks – Week 3 Of Dean Holland Starting With Marketing

I have just started week 3 of Dean Holland’s Starting With Marketing coaching program. If you want to read pervious weeks modules click here
Module 3Traffic Tanks

As you know the biggest hurdle people face in their online business, is knowing how to drive targeted traffic to their websites. Without traffic, no one will be visiting your website, no one will purchase your product or service, quite frankly no one will know your online business exist.

Tracking Your Website Traffic

In the training modules Dean Holland discuss the importance of tracking traffic that is coming to your website, so you can see what traffic methods are working and to adjust your traffic strategies accordingly. The wordpress plugin that I use to track my traffic is Google Analyticator. Google Analyticator has features that I find useful such as a dashboard widget that displays a graph of the last 30 days of visitors, summary of site usage, the top pages, the top referrers, and the top searches. Google Analyticator also integrates well wth Google analytics.

You will also need to register for an Google analytics account to get your detailed traffic reports sign up here

As you can see from the screenshot Google Analytics gives you detailed reports of visitors, traffic sources, content pages look at, keyword analysis etc.. all of this imformation can be use to give you an idea of which keywords are popular to use, the best content to add on your website, the best social media, forums, blog sites to add your posts too etc…

Free Traffic Methods

Currently their are free and paid ways of driving targeted traffic to your blog or website. The main focus of this module is how to utilise the free methods to your advantage to drive targeted traffic to your site. Here are some of the free methods to drive traffic:

Search Engine Optimization
Using targeted keyword phrases in your blog title and continuously in your posts can also help drive traffic to your website.

Blog / forum posting
Submiting comments on other blogs or forums related to your niche, you are establishing yourself as a knowledgeable member of a community and if done properly, an expert with valuable information to share.

Social Media
Posting your websites url post to social media sites to drive traffic back to your website. Is another effective way of getting targeted visitors to your website.

I hope these traffic tips has helped you on your online business…In the next coming weeks I will post other effective ways to drive more traffic to your site.

Hi Avis

You have a packed blog. I am one of Dean’s students also and my blog isn’t close to your blog. I was quite impressed with the number of followers you have at this point in time. I can count the number of visitors on my google analytics on one hand and the hand does not require any fingers. I am starting at zero and there is only one way to go from there.

Keep up the good work.

Roger Neumann

Go out and make it a successful day! :-)

Yeah Avis. The new wave is here. We are learning so much. Blog hopping is crucially important for us like Dean mentioned, and we can’t forget about all the other tools either. This is such an exciting time for us. Best of luck to us all. Let’s create our own luck and be consistent in what we do.

Thanks again,

Ed

Avis

Great post and traffic tips. I’m actually a student of Alex Jeffreys (MWA2.0) following the same path that Dean trod last year, and can identify exactly with what Dean is teaching in terms of blog hopping and helping our fellow students out with tips and advice.
I hope to see the vistors numbers increase as we progress along our paths to online success. Stop by and check my blog for some tips and advice when you get a chance.
All the best

Tom

Traffic the bane of many people lives and also for a lot of newbs who think 5 steps too far ahead to the point where they don’t put up a blog because they’re worried about the traffic!!

Personally working on just three traffic generation methods at a time.. Get the perfect, see the results, automate/systemise it and then add a new one to the mix..

The only way I can keep focused : )
