Hi Avis,

Thanks for the comment on my blog. Cool blog post and good information.

I’d like to suggest a couple of other resources as well for scoping out the competition and getting details on their SEO and backlinks.

http://alexa.com
http://dnscoop.com
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/ (awesome backlink checker)

And as a final tip, if you use firefox, add the seoquake plugin/add-on to get a great breakdown of some of the seo efforts of any website you are on.

Have you ever used joost de valk’s tool for checking PR and links? I was told about it, and how useful it was but when i went to download it my version of firefox was too new.

anybody using it?

March 25, 2010

I have never used joost de valk’s tool for checking PR and links. I just use SEO For FireFox or SEO Quake which is very good. Generally the plugin should be compatible with new browser versions.

Another great aspect of his application is you can see the complete graphical over view of you as well as your competitor’s campaigns so that you can track down the exact strategies they are using for successful campaigns.

April 10, 2010

Hi Reputation Management

Sometimes its not good to just use exact strategies they are using for successful campaigns. even if they are successful, its better to do your own research as well you may come up with better strategies.

I’ve tried Keywords spy before , I liked it but if you’re using a free version then they won’t give enough info just like everyone else.

Is Google Adplanner as good as Keywordspy?

I’ve always like using google tools. Maybe I should have a try.

April 10, 2010

Hi SEO Australia

I use most research tools from Google and Aaron Wall’s – SEO Tools and SEOmoz Tools.

Google Ad Planner is good, very simple to use! It uses data from both Google AdWords, adSense and DoubleClick. It also define audiences by demographics and interests search for websites relevant to your target audience, access unique users, page views, and other data.

Nice info…I should try those trick… Thanks 4 share…

I like Quantcast.com myself although I want to look into some other suggestions you have made.
I sometimes wonder if looking to deep into some of the competition is losing time on the 2.0 platform (which is fast!)
